It all started in 2002 when my husband began his own construction company. I, like many other wives, was expected to do the bookkeeping. As a resourceful, bright person I hired a great professional bookkeeper to teach me all she knew. As time progressed, I became a volunteer bookkeeper for my church and later also took a position with a local company as their bookkeeper. Soon I had my first private client as my computer tech saw Quickbooks on my computer and referred me. They are still my clients today!
I soon began to realize that I wanted more. I approached the bookkeeper I had hired years prior and asked if she would take me under her wing and teach me more! She agreed and I began gathering my own clients. I also increased my knowledge by taking college accounting and other bookkeeping, accounting, and computer classes.
Soon I had too many clients to care for on my own and added the most capable employees to assist.
What started out as a way to help my husband has turned into the opportunity to help over 30 local businesses, all while being able to simultaneously run my own small business. I love meeting new entrepreneurs, like myself, and hearing their craft and business plan. I look forward to the future and new client’s to come!
